A man was beaten with a baseball bat and robbed of $30,000 while returning home from an event in North Philadelphia, police said.
The violent robbery happened around 2:17 a.m. on Sunday, along the 5000 block of North 6th Street.
When officers got to the scene, police said they found a man with visible injuries to his head.
Police said an investigation revealed that the man returning home from an event in North Philadelphia when multiple unknown attackers approached him and assaulted him with a baseball bat.
During the attack, the robbers stole a bag containing $30,000 in cash before fleeing in an unknown direction.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
